Statement of Practice

My practice is Costume Design. I've very much interested in costume for film, TV, maybe theatre. For inspiration, I've been really inspired into this practice because of Colleen Atwood and Sandy Powell. They are my motivation to try and be creative in terms of colour and textures, and how the costume can reflect the character. I'm very much influenced by colour and the meaning of why certain colours are used, and using different textures that makes the costume look like a separate character itself from the performer. I've grown an interest in haute couture, which could be a big influencer for my costume design style. Overall, I'm very much a visual artist, whether it's for costume design or illustration.
